Depression is Associated with an
Imbalance of Neurotransmitters3,4

Within the brain there are special chemicals called neurotransmitters that help transfer messages from one brain cell to another throughout the brain. Depression has been associated with an imbalance of the three neurotransmitters (chemical messengers) associated with mood: serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.

How Do Antidepressants Work?5

Neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine) are
important to maintain your mood. Antidepressants like SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) and SNRIs (serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors) block reabsorption allowing the brain to have greater use of the available neurotransmitters.
